The Busted Loop Squarespace Jetpack
Intro
This is a widget that utilizes the Mozilla Labs Jetpack extension to provide a browser overlay that shows live Squarespace traffic stats. If you're a Squarespace user, your're probably addicted to the live stats... hopefully this Jetpack helps you get a little more work done :)
Requirements
- Firefox 3.5 (might work with 3.0, I haven't tried)
- Jetpack
- A Squarespace account
Installation
Install Mozilla Labs Jetpack (requires browser restart) (direct link to installer) then come back to this page and hit the install button that should appear in the top right corner (no restart required).
Usage
You must be logged into your Squarespace account to use the Squarespace Jetpack as it does not know your username and password and relies on the existance of your browsers authenticated Squarespace session.
Click the Squarespace icon in the status bar, you should see a text box to put your website address into (i.e. http://mydomain.com or http://mydomain.squarespace.com). Do that, then hit save. If you get it wrong, you can always hit the "prefs" link on the "referrers" header.
Once you are getting stats in the widget, you should be able to close the tab or window you logged into Squarespace with.
Click the Squarespace icon () in the status bar or use the keyboard short cut (alt-s) to invoke or dismiss the widget.
Clicking on the stat headers ("this hour", "refferers", etc) causes a refresh of all stats. The stats will also periodically refresh themselves.
Uninstall
1) go to "about:jetpack" in the Firefox address bar.
2) click "Installed Features"
3) click "uninstall" next to the Squarespace Jetpack
4) done!
